I wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with the new hardwood floors. The Brazilian Cherry is spectacular! The reactions from visitors are pretty much the same: the jaw drops, followed by a "Wow! Your floors are soooo beautiful!" This is followed by a lot of raves that...
CarpetsPlus newsletters deliver flooring tips, news, advice and deals to help you find the perfect floor.
We carry a wide assortment of carpet styles and colors and can help you match any interior room decor. But beauty is only part of the story. We love to talk to customers about how all manufacturers are using new technologies to make products the most stain, odor, and static resistant.
Today’s carpet choices include some of the “greenest” options around! Newsweek Magazine listed Mohawk as one of the top “green” companies in the U.S. Both Mohawk and Shaw use recycled materials like P.E.T. plastics in their carpet yarns to produce some of the softest, most durable textiles available. In most cases, these recycled fibers even outperform some synthetic fibers.

CUT AND LOOP
Special Note About Berbers:
Berbers are really big bulky yarns that are either produced in a level loop, or multi-level loop carpet construction. Although many Berbers are made out of olefin fiber, some are made with nylon, or a blend of various carpet fibers.
This is the most popular synthetic carpet fiber used today. It offers tremendous value, performance, and ease of maintenance. Nylon provides brilliant colors and hides soil and traffic well.
This fiber is also called polypropylene, and is extremely popular in Berbers and level loops. Olefin carpets are highly stain, static, mold, and mildew resistant. They can be used for indoor or outdoor carpets, including outdoor turf. Their resistance to matting and crushing are not as good as a nylon fiber.
Gives excellent color clarity with a soft feel to the carpet. Lacks the durability of a nylon carpet.
Has a real wool look and appearance. Used mainly in level loops, bath mats, and some velvet carpet styles. Offers good mold and mildew resistance with low static levels.
Although somewhat expensive wool still offers great bulk, performance, and an elegant look. Several area rugs are offered in wool.
